David is an experienced brand and marketing communications specialist who has worked extensively in both client and agency environments. Most significantly he has been responsible for the successful set up and management of Nationwide Building Society’s in house creative agency.
After leaving Lancaster University with a degree in Marketing, David began his marketing career with what was to be his first stint at Nationwide where he ultimately became Advertising Manager. He then jumped ship to the agency side with spells at FCB (Citibank and Findus) and the brand agency Identica (Inmarsat, Mercury) before heading west to join Bristol multi discipline agency Proctor & Stevenson where he worked with Bristol & West, NatWest, Standard Chartered and the United Bank of Kuwait. In 2001 David returned to Nationwide with a brief to set a credible and cost effective in house creative resource. The brief was met and under his management the in-house agency delivered a wide range of creative solutions for the business encompassing brand identity, advertising, film production, employee engagement and internal communications. David is also an Associate Lecturer in Brand Marketing at the University of the West of England and outside of work and family his favourite place to be is behind his drum kit!
