We were thrilled to convene our latest Flock roundtable dinner in Chicago in partnership with Screendragon, where we had the privilege of hosting Rishad Tobaccowala, the author of Rethinking Work, as our guest of honor. Over an evening of lively conversation and inspiration, Rishad reminded us that the future of work isn’t just about where we sit and what we do, but about how we work and adapt.
Our discussion ranged from reimagining marketing operating models, to how AI and technology can free up creative minds, the importance of data-driven decision-making, and how every organization can audit and elevate its capabilities, and processes for maximum flexibility and impact.
As Jill Benedict aptly noted, we still fight unnecessary complexity and noise internally and externally that is holding back growth. Now is the time to lean into process transformation, agile ecosystem design, and robust capability roadmaps that keep pace with the rapid changes in our industry.
We also talked about the importance of staying up to date with technology to upgrade your own self learning. Rishad made a great analogy – your phone’s operating system has had 18 upgrades in 18 years, but how many times have we upgraded our mental operating system in the past 18 years?
